In the high tropical mountains, mosses and lichens grow and invade the rock surfaces and soften them. From this process is born the first dark layer of soil, which is a life-giving cultivation for the native forests, territories that are in crisis due to human uses of the land: forest plantations, fires and agro-industry. Of the ascent to the dark land takes us on an immersive journey through a subterranean universe, which portrays the rhythms, textures and internal movements of this primordial soil formed by mosses. Through different capture tools such as photogrammetry, microscopic photography and sound recording with hydrophones, we reinterpret the landscape in visual and auditory textures, which overlay, construct and decompose in cycles of life and death.

Del ascenso a la tierra oscura

Una película en colaboración con Ana Roa, Johny Chaparro, Juan Francisco Rodríguez. Colectivo Ser Otro.
En las altas montañas tropicales los musgos y los líquenes crecen e invaden las superficies de las rocas y las ablandan. De este proceso nace la primera capa oscura de tierra, que es cultivo de vida para los bosques nativos, territorios que se encuentran en crisis por los usos humanos del suelo: plantaciones forestales, incendios y agroindustria. Del ascenso a la tierra oscura nos adentra en un viaje envolvente por un universo subterráneo, que retrata los ritmos, texturas y movimientos internos de este suelo primigenio formado por los musgos. A través de diferentes herramientas de captura como la fotogrametría, la fotografía microscópica y la grabación sonora con hidrófonos, reinterpretamos el paisaje en texturas visuales y auditivas, que se superponen, construyen y descomponen en ciclos de vida y muerte.
